Praying and waiting...

Well...since our last entry we have had two fundraising opportunities thanks to the Mueller family's help.  Thank you so much.  We love you guys!  We have our home study packet in hand and will soon be completing the home study application and scheduling a date for our home study visit.  BUT first we are in need of much more prayer and provision.  God has taken us by surprise a few times by giving small increments of cash that will be paying our home study fee and adoption fee that is due NOW.  We plan to schedule a jewelry fundraiser in Ringwood and  Edmond sometime after the first of the year.  We are having faith that God is going to provide enough money to pay at least one of the fees due.

We have had requests for more choices of jewelry that Michelle and April have been putting together for our jewelry fundraiser.  So we have been thinking of a few more new necklace and ear ring choices.  Hopefully we will be able to share them with all after the first of the year.  Been trying to finish up our Christmas celebrations with all our family, next come down the Christmas decorations, and then we will be working on the new jewelry selections and posting pictures for all to see.

Thank you to all who have purchased jewelry so far.  Thank you to all who have been praying.  Please continue to pray and pass on our blog address to all your family and friends.  We want to include as many as we can on our journey to bring Jacey home.  Much love and blessings to all.

Blessings...

It has been awhile since we last blogged.  Sorry.  We have been working and taking care of family.  Had a very nice Thanksgiving.  Spent time with family and friends and ate lots of very good food.  Was able to go out of town and spend time with friends that mean so much to us.  Thank you, Connie and April for the time you spent helping Michelle with our blog.  We love you!

Wow!  Don't ever doubt that God won't provide.  We are in the process of gathering all the required copies for our home study.  But before we can schedule the actual home visit, we have to pay a fee and provide copies of all paperwork listed.  We don't have much.  And we live paycheck to paycheck most months.  With Christmas coming on very quickly, we knew that we would not have a penny to spare.  April is giving us ideas for fundraisers.  We have scheduled two days this coming weekend to showcase jewelry Michelle and April have made.  We are also wrapping gifts for those who don't care for wrapping or just don't have the time to wrap their gifts for Christmas.  Whatever funds are raised from these ideas will be so greatly appreciated.  We also had a surprise call Sunday night after church from our family in Ringwood.  Thank you so much!!!  And these words can not express the gratitude our family feels for the blessing you have provided.  But there is much more to be done.  And this is just the beginning of our long awaited journey.  In the end, we will all look back on this moment in time and see just what GREAT things God CAN do.  Continue to pray for provision and paperwork to go smoothly.  We love you all very much!!!!

Needing God's Provision

Just spoke with our home study social worker.  Her name is Earlene.  We are to pay the fee for the home study before we are able to start.  We also have our first installment due to Lifeline.  We desperately need prayer for God's provision.  I know God is molding Jay & I into better stewards.  This home study seems to have come at a very costly time of year for us.  We purchased our Tahoe in October.  We had to pay the tag, title and tax in November along with our first loan payment for the Tahoe.  Hunter's consultation with the orthodontist is the middle of this month.  CHRISTMAS IS 23 DAYS AWAY!!!  The kids have no gifts and I haven't even set up the Christmas tree.  I am putting together necklaces and ear rings until my hands hurt and I can do no more.  April suggested we sell poinsettias, but so far am not doing very well with that.  I'm not feeling well today and am not getting much accomplished but a few loads of laundry.  Pray, pray, and pray some more.  This is a depressing day for me. And I know this is just the beginning of more times like this.  But I'm holding on for the awesome times that are to come.  Thank you friends and family for your prayers and thoughts.  I'll see if maybe I can get the tree up today :)

The CAM

Got our approval November 19th.  Praise the Lord!!!  Karla called Jay.  We listed my cell phone number as our home number. She notified us of the approval on Jay's cell phone.  AND he kept the news to himself all afternoon long without sharing.  Can you believe that???  So, when Jay got home that evening he called for a family meeting.  The boys and I sat around on the couch while Jay stood before us looking very serious.  He says, "Well, you know we've been waiting for news about adopting?" Pause.........Pause...........Pause...........
Still very serious he says, "We got approved."  Everyone screams!!!  We are soooo excited!!!  I don't know where to begin.  I've been working this week and doing laundry daily so that we will have everything clean for the holiday weekend.  I will be packing in the morning for the five of us to travel to April and David's Thanksgiving evening.  Meghan drove home this evening after she got off work.  Really nice to have her home.  Anyway,  The MANUAL...I haven't had a chance to look at anything but the first few pages.  I have read through the pages with all the fees.  Jay and I will not stress.  The Father is going to provide.  His provisions will come in his timing and all fees will be paid in full just at the right moment.  I did read over the table of contents and I can't wait to skip to the back to read and learn all about China.  Probably will take it (the manual) to Thanksgiving lunch and read a little while everyone is gossiping about the family that didn't make it for lunch:)  HAPPY THANKSGIVING TO ALL AND MANY BLESSINGS TO COME!!!

Awaiting approval

Lack of patience is a great character builder.  Romans 5:3-5 says, "Not only so, but we also rejoice in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance;  perservernce, character;  character, hope.   And hope does not disappoint us, because God has poured out his love, into our hearts by the Holy Spirit, whom he had given us."

Our new Tahoe is great!!!  It's great for our family.  But to have the Tahoe, I am working a little more than I had planned.  Would really love to stay home a little more for the kids.  The cold weather has flared up the fibromyalgia in my body.  I am having to take more medicine to control pain than I usually do.  The medicine sometimes makes me sleepy.  If I've had a hard, long day at work and take my medication in the afternoon, I usually have to lie down.  The rest seems to help with the pain, too.  My body needs naps:)

So pray for provision.   I know that God would rather me stay home and He will make a way.  J.J. asked me Friday night if it was wrong to ask God to help "them" give us an approval on our application.  Can you guess what we have prayed for ever since?

Confirmation...

Any price is worth paying to be a part of God's ministry and following the call He has placed upon your life.
We had very good messages from the Lord today in church.  I so love it when God confirms the way your life is going.  In Sunday School this morning we discussed parenting.  Psalm 127:3-5 says, "Sons are a heritage from the Lord, children a reward from Him.  Like arrows in the hands of a warrior are sons born in one's youth.  Blessed is the man whose quiver is full of them.  They will not be put to shame when they contend with their enemies in the gate."  What a reminder of how we should feel about our children.  Our children are blessings, a reward from God.  Jay and I are waiting for God to reward us again:) Join us in prayer.  Loving you all!

Psalm 19:11

"In keeping the word of the Lord there is great reward."

Put our application in the mail on Wednesday.  Praying and waiting for our approval.

God is good!

Today has been a pretty eventful day.  Jay had a wreck this morning on I-40 with a deer.  The deer was coming across the interstate and collided with Jay's company pickup as he was on his way to work.  The pickup has $3,000 damage.  Jay was not hurt.  "Thank you, Lord, for your protecting hand on my husband today."  The deer was not so good...I worked 6 1/2 hours today for homecare.  I love my job.  When I came home I had a few minutes to get a load of laundry going.  Got laundry going when Hayden and J.J. come crashing through the front door starving for a snack.  We grabbed some Halloween candy (great nutritional after school snack, LOL) and out the door we go to get Hayden and J.J.'s hair cut.  We sat in the barber shop for an hour and what do you know, I forgot my checkbook.  So, I had to go back home to get a checkbook to pay for the boys' haircuts.  I can't use the debit card because it's been used so much that it has a crack across the part you slide through the credit card machine.  Had to go to the bank earlier on my lunch break to order a new one of those.  When I got back from getting a checkbook, Hayden and J.J.'s hair has been cut and styled with lots of gel, just like they like it:)  I paid for the haircuts and off to the grocery store we go.  We are having hamburgers for supper and need hamburger buns and fixins. Yum!  Dinner is complete and I sit down to eat.  I eat all my hamburger and take my medication.  Should be good for the rest of the evening so thought I would sit down and try to tell everyone about "our story"........................

As some of you know Jay and I are no longer able to have anymore children.  We have the four:  Meghan age 19, Hunter age 14, Hayden age 10, & J.J. age 9.  They are the best!  God is molding and making them into His Christ-likeness.  Meghan is living in Edmond, going to college at UCO, and is very involved in the music and children's ministries in her church.  Hunter is in the youth group now, is playing basketball, and doing well in school.  Hayden was baptized a few weeks ago!  J.J. loves to read, enjoys music and sports, and Hunter hung the moon and starts in his eyes.  As a family we have always talked about adopting a baby someday but never really thought that this dream could ever become a reality.  God can really change your life if you are listening and obey whatever He is telling you to do.  I, for about 3 months now have heard the call of God. Jay, on the other hand, felt like it was a wrong number. LOL!  I have spent many hours in prayer and have been asking others to pray for God's discernment in a matter that will change our family's life forever.  I was trying to be the patient and understanding wife that God would want me to be, when all I really wanted to do was tell Jay that God has showing us the way for sometime now.  We purchased a Tahoe a few weeks ago and I dropped the hint that we had room for our family and a car seat.  Jay said the reason we have a new car is because the old one had too many miles on it.  I also told Jay that he wasn't getting any younger and now was the time we needed to adopt.  All along, Jay had been praying and seeking God's will.  He was just trying to argue with God.  Then Tuesday, October 22nd, Jay left for work that morning trying to think of a way to tell me that we were not supposed to adopt.  After much crying, screaming, and laughing, Jay trusted and had faith that God will lead and protect our family in the journey that God has planned for us.  Which leads me to what we are encountering today...Jay and I are filling out our adoption application.  We have been working on it for about a 4 days now.  Our hope is that it is completed and sent by Wednesday evening.  We ask that you join with us and pray for an APPROVAL!!!
